  1. I think the white girls did really good..but the second place black girls were more creative...the white girls got first place, not because white girls usually cant dance so no one would ever thought that they could step like that..i was expecting it to be much worst becasue all of the comments that people were making but the white girls werent that bad...i understand how the judges were confused but creativity should win it everytime..the tricks, flips and dance moves that the black girls had, the white girls didnt so i dont know..but i dont think it was a race thing

  2. I think its unfair that everybody is making such a big deal about the white steppers winning. If they're good, they're good. So what. Stepping shouldn't be just a thing for the blacks because when you think about it the blacks have their own thing, the music business. You don't hear much about white rappers/singers doing the things that black rappers/singers do. If the black steppers really feel some type of way that white steppers beat them, then maybe they need to step up their step game. Its real sad how poor their sportmanship is. Even though they were booed and even had to share first place, the ZTA Steppers still had a good spirit about it....Black people these days!

  3. I happen to think that that the black step teams are just embarrassed. Compared to what the other winners did, the white step team did a very good job. They stepped more than the 3rd place winners, first of all and they were well put together. Other than that I think that they should just leave the situation alone and give the white girls some respect and stop hating, because they did the darn thing!!! I also think that stepping should be for everybody, no matter what their race is, i mean come on people didn't we already go the the racism and prejudice stage already??? people just need to get it together, and realize that it's not just about us blacks anymore, it's time for other races to shine!!!!

  4. I think that the Zeta's did i really good job. The black girls(and audience) are just mad because they were'nt expecting some white girls to come out and step and dance like they did. I'm a bit upset that the African American community made such a big deal out of a white step team winning. On Coca Cola's behalf i do not think that they should have given the second place winners the additional money and made them co winners of first place because they did'nt give a first place performace. I believe Coke did this so that their clientel of African Americans wouldn't go down, in turn making them loose money.

  5. I think the first place winners deserved their title. Their group did really well and it shouldn't have mattered that they were white. If you're good at something, then you're good at it. They had the talent and got rewarded for it. I don't think the second place team should have been given the same amount of money. Coca Cola probably just agreed to it so they could avoid any accusations that they were somehow racist. It's the same when applying for a job or college. I understand why people have to fill quotas, but its not entirely fair. If someone has what it takes and are able to stand out among a group, the color of their skin should not carry any weight. Besides, living in a place like America cultures are inevitably going to mix and rub off on one another.

  6. The fact that the white group won the competition before all the other black groups is not a big deal to me. I understand that the history of "stepping" began with African Americans and became an African American tradition. However, I don't believe that the tradition should discriminate against other races. Discrimination is already a big deal for blacks because they are the most discriminated against now-a-days. Being upset that a black didn't win and showing a sign of animosity and racism. This makes blacks look like hypocrite. Just because the white group won people are making a big uproar about it. I think we should accept this, and this should make blacks more competitive and better in "their own sport."

  7. I feel as though it shouldn't matter what your race is, if you are a good stepper then you should win. The black steppers that lost to the chapter of white steppers are only embarrassed that they had lost in a competition that was meant for them to win. They are only frustrated with the themselves because the idea of stepping had originated from their own heritage and now the white girls are showing that they can compete is having a negative affect on the black sorority's self-esteem. The black stepping sororities should get themselves together and just practice harder for the next national championship and be ready for any team black or white that has made it this far. The black steppers were just not as ready to compete with the white steppers. They need to pick up their self-esteem from the floor and try again next year and just be prepared and not think anyone is just going to hand them a championship.

  8. Okay so I believe that the white step team did indeed deserve first place. First because they did a big thing by even being a part of an all "black" activity anyway. Also I believe that if you know how to step then you do, it shouldn’t be based upon the color of your skin. The black step teams blew the whole situation out of control; I think it was just embarrassment and they over exaggerated about everything. You can’t rest on competition because of what color they are you have to bring your best every time and I believe that the black steppers slacked off because they thought oh well their white so we have nothing to worry about. When whites or blacks prove something there is always going to be jealousy and embarrassment, and all you can do is take on the chin and try harder next time. If you deserve it; take it.

  9. I believe that the response of the white steppers winning, with the crowd going "BOOO" was uneccessary. It should not matter what color you are, if they were good, they were good. Even if stepping was started with African Americans, it should be a "sport" that is shared with all nationalities. Just like Basketball, Football, Locrose, Tennis, and etc. It should not be about color because if you have the skills than you should go for it. Therefore I believe that people should stop being so racial. The judges should also not be racial either, although in the videos it did not show the nationality of the judges but it can be favoritism. So it can go both ways, but I do not think the judges would do that, well in most cases they should not. I think the judges was being honest in their votes.

  10. Okay...Well them "little white girls" won because they were the best in my opinion. People made such a big deal for no reason. Had a black group won you wouldn't see the white people making a big deal over it. It is the same with sports, the better team wins. They just need to face it, black people will not win at everything. And at times when they don't win they want to make a big deal about it. I mean take our rugby team for example, we were good, and were losing to a white team that was "rascist" toward us and we lost our heads and wanted to fight. Black people might feel that whites "owe" them things these days but blacks need to face the fact that they will not win at every sport. The whites won because "the judges" felt they should have won. I honestly don't think they won because they were white.

  11. i dont see why they got booed. they were one of the best groups. just because they were white they didnt have to be treated like that. if it was gonna be such a big deal they cuda atleast put them in second place. now they have to give out more money for no reason. just because its a black tradition doesnt mean that the white group couldnt join or win. many things are shared now a days but even though people dont like it, its still gonna happen. there are so many sports, music people, and many other things that blacks and whites come together in. there isnt any problem with that. the ZTA's got first for a reason they were good and thats what the judges were looking for.

  12. I think that the way the crowd reacted was completely disrespectful, and it did just reflelct on them but it reflected on our entire race. So what if white girls won a stepping contest, it's really not that serious. Blacks shouldnt win just because stepping is a tradition, they should win because they were better than the compitition. And in that case, they werent obviously. I know that there was times when black people won things that whites were pissed about, but they got over it. This is just going to have to be one of those things that blacks have to get over. I also dont thing that the runner-ups should have been given more money later and was considered tied with the winners. If they lost, they lost! Its really not that serious. And even if they didnt let the white girls compete..they would have been considered racist and would had had a huge law suit on them for that. They also would have been doing what white have done years ago in the past.

  13. I think it's plain outrages of how the other team share the same money award even though they didn't win. No matter if it used to be black Greek dance, why can you share it? those white girls work hard to win the prize and the other team got beaten and still got the same amount? that's completely wrong and it's going to spark racism crime if this keep up. We all live in a world of diverse society so i don't understand why can't people learn to share. I don't think Sprite Corps should give it to the black stepper at all, but if they want to make it right, why not have a rematch and see who's best? now that's the way to do it beside just give it away and please what is not right!
