This morning is a two fold task - first of all I would like you to write an editorial position paper stating whether or not the United States should continue celebrating Black History Month. Be sure to cite any other sources you might use. SUBMIT IT TO ME VIA EMAIL.
Part two is on the cLc page but I am not sure how it will work for you. It is called "riots and rebellions".
When the African American slaves took up arms against their masters, it was called a Rebellion. Later, when Blacks are fighting for equality against their oppressors, it is called Rioting. For this part, I'd like you to research a slave insurrection (rebellion) - same rules as the biography. Be creative!
Today I'd like to see your topic and the beginnings of an outline/prospectus of your presentation.

Black History Month
First of all, good morning. I haven't moved off of the sofa much since Saturday morning except to shovel some snow. Here is your assignment... check out the slide show here and compare that to what you think your top 5 black history moments are.Then read this article, and tell me what your opinions are about Henry Louis Gates, Jr and his opinions about Black History Month.
